RULE FLOUTED! WHO IS GOING TO BE TAKEN TO TASK!
Posted date: 6/March/2010

Razing of a theatre and using it for commercial purposes there should be a theatre in that place is the approval of the seniors in the past of KFCC.

This law came into existence when Minerva theatre was razed in the busy JC Road by M Bhakthavatsalam. Later several theatres on KG Road were razed for commercial purposes it was not followed. When Kempe Gowda theatre, earlier to it Alankar, Geetha, Prabhat theatres were demolished this rule was flouted. Very recently Geethanjali theatre was demolished and Big Bazaar has come up in this place there is not even a small theatre in that place.

Now Majestic and Kalpana theatres have been demolished one has to wait and watch. The former President of Karnataka Film Producers Association Basanthkumar Patil was throwing light on such breaking of rules. Who is going to ask? He cuts a sorry figure.

There are many more demolitions of theatres in Bangalore. The Himalaya theatre on Kempe Gowda road is in dilapidated condition as usual.
